New School Year started

On Saturday at 3.00 pm till 6.00pm we had just over 100 children plus about 50 adults at the church premises. First hour we spent in the chapel where we sang songs and then the Word was preached. Our youth leader Michal talked about the importance of building our life on solid foundation, referring to the Lord Jesus Christ. After first part we left the building to have another two hours of fellowship outside. Children could find their group according their interest, so there was a table with crafts, painting, fishing pool or other form of games. Adults could chat on spiritual matters with our church members. We had several opportunities to talk with newcomers, some were first time and were surprised that such things are in Torun. We praise God that the building which we got as a gift from Lord years ago now serves to preach the Gospel in our community. Our thanks go also to a team from the church (left picture on the bottom) who with an eagerness prepared and lead this evangelistic outreach. We are thankful to God who gave us this Saturday such beautiful weather. On Friday and Sunday we had a rain but nothing on Saturday !!!
At our Sunday morning service we prayed for Sunday School leaders (right picture on the bottom). They were introduced to the congregation with request to pray for them and the children whom they will serve. Church children are divided into three groups and each one have 2-3 adults who work with them. We have just over 20 children aged 4-13. Encouraging thing is this, that two more girls expressed a willingness to attend Sunday School. They live in another part of Torun and will have to take two buses in order to reach the church building on Sunday morning. It will take them nearly one hour to travel. Their names are Marta (12) and Daria (14). You can see them on the picture (first row, right picture from left Marta, Daria and Sylwia with child on her knees). Church in Torun sponsored them a Christian camp in July for 10 days in Teodorowo. They and their mother were today at the morning service and were pleased to hear the message. Thank you for your prayers till now and please continue to pray for the children's ministry and our church team who are called by God into this ministry.

W sobotę 2-go września zbór toruński zorganizował piknik dla ponad 100 dzieci plus ich rodzice. Spotkanie to było powiązane z rozpoczęciem roku szkolnego. Pierwszą godzinę spędziliśmy w kaplicy, śpiewając i słuchając Słowa. Michał, lider młodzieży podzielił się fragmentem z Biblii na temat ważności dobierania właściwych materiałów w budowie domu. W ten sposób nawiązał do słów Jezusa; że ważną rzeczą jest budowanie życia na właściwym fundamencie jakim jest sam Pan Jezus Chrystus. Następne dwie godziny spędziliśmy na zewnątrz budynku. W różnych miejscach na terenie wokół kaplicy były przygotowane "stanowiska". W zależności od zainteresowań dzieci, można było znaleźć miejsce gdzie dzieci mogły malować, sklejać, rysować. W innym miejscu były zabawy: łowienie rybek w basenie, gry w siatkówkę czy tenisa stołowego. W międzyczasie rodzice mogli porozmawiać ze zborownikami na tematy wiary chrześcijańskiej. Było wiele ciekawych rozmów. Większość obecnych na pikniku to były osoby, które nie są uczestnikami zgromadzeń niedzielnych, dla wielu z nich było to pierwsze spotkanie w społeczności ewangelicznej.
W niedzielę 3-go września na porannym nabożeństwie mieliśmy zborową uroczystość - rozpoczęcie roku szkolnego. W zborze mamy ponad 20 dzieci w wieku 4-13 lat podzielonych na trzy grupy. Każdą z nich zajmują się 2-3 osoby nauczycieli. W lipcu zbór opłacił i wysłał pięć osób na obozy w Teodorowie. Dwie z nich Marta (12) i Daria (14) wyraziły chęć regularnego uczestnictwa w zajęciach szkoły niedzielnej. Z uwagi, że mieszkają na drugim końcu miasta podróż dwoma autobusami zajmie im ok jednej godziny. Martę i Darię możecie zobaczyć na zdjęciu w pierwszym rzędzie w prawej kolumnie.
